Shots Fired In Carmel Police Chase, Crash

Shots were fired by police during a chase that began in Carmel and ended in a crash in Fishers on Thursday night, police said. Police were alerted to a shoplifter at the Meijer store in Carmel just after 7:30 p.m. Officers pursued the man's truck near Main Street and Guilford Avenue, after which the man drove onto the Woodland Country Club golf course off 116th Street, police said. As he was leaving, police said the man tried to run over an officer. That officer fired four shots at the truck, police said. Officers said the man took off on 116th Street, reaching speeds of 90 mph, before crashing near 116th Street and Legends Boulevard, east of Cumberland Road, rolling his truck. His condition was not released Thursday night. Police said they believe he was intoxicated.
Ellen DeGeneres is leaving American Idol. In a statement Thursday, Ellen said, "A couple months ago, I let Fox and the American Idol producers know that this didn't feel like the right fit for me. I told them I wouldn't leave them in a bind and that I would hold off on doing anything until they were able to figure out where they wanted to take the panel next."

But, get this, men who believe they are better looking than their wives tend to be more disgruntled and have more negative feelings about their marriage. That's the word from a study from the University of Tennessee which found while men who married pretty women are content to bask in the glory of their partner's beauty, men who are more attractive than their wives are more likely to offer less emotional and practical support to their partner.
